In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 3(8) of the Cinemas Act 1985(1), I hereby make the following Order:
1. -�
(1) This Order may be cited as the Fees for Cinema Licences (Variation) Order 1991 and shall come into force on 1st December 1991.
(2) This Order does not extend to Northern Ireland.
2. The sums specified in section 3(7) (maximum fees to be fixed by licensing authority) of the Cinemas Act 1985(2) shall be varied by the substitution of-�
(a)the sum of £600 for the sum of £173.50, in both places where it occurs;
(b)the sum of £200 for the sum of £58; and
(c)the sum of £120 for the sum of £35.
3. The Fees for Cinema Licences (Variation) Order 1986(3) and the Fees for Cinema Licences (Variation) (Scotland) Order 1986(4) are hereby revoked.

This Order increases the maximum fees payable for the grant, renewal or transfer of licences issued under section 1 of the Cinemas Act 1985 for the purpose of film exhibitions. The Order extends throughout Great Britain.
The maximum fees for the grant or renewal of a licence for one year are increased from £173.50 to £600, for the grant or renewal of a licence for monthly periods are increased from £58 to £200 (subject to a maximum in any one year of £600) and for the transfer of a licence are increased from £35 to £120.
