1. The length of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of North Yorkshire that the new trunk road is open for through traffic.
2. In this Order-
(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(2) (i) "classified road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactment or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;
(ii)"the deposited plan" means the plan numbered HA10/YHRO 35 marked "The A19 Trunk Road (Raskelf Bridge to Shires Bridge) (Detrunking) Order 1992" signed by authority of the Secretary of State;
(iii)"the new trunk road" means the highway to be constructed by the Secretary of State in pursuance of the A19 Trunk Road (Easingwold Bypass) Order 1992;(3) and
(iv)"the trunk road" means the East of Snaith-Sunderland Trunk Road (A19).
3. This Order shall come into force on 29th May 1992 and may be cited as the A19 Trunk Road (Raskelf Bridge to Shires Bridge) (Detrunking) Order 1992.

The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is about 4.07 kilometres in length from its junction with Stonycourse Lane (marked "C" on the deposited plan), to a point on the trunk road about 278 metres north of Shires Bridge (marked "D" on the deposited plan) all in the District of Hambleton in the County of North Yorkshire.
