1. The new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the route described in the Schedule to this Order shall become a trunk road as from the date when this Order comes into force.

2. The centre line of the new trunk road is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.

3. In this Order:

(a)"the deposited plan" means the plan folio numbered HA 10/1 CNW 321 marked "the A59 Preston New Road (Samlesbury) Order 1992" containing 1 key plan and 1 scheme plan bound together, signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;

(b)"the new trunk road" means the highway mentioned in article 1 of this Order.

4. This Order shall come into force on 3rd December 1992 and may be cited as the A59 Preston New Road (Samlesbury) Order 1992.

SCHEDULEROUTE OF THE NEW TRUNK ROAD

A route 250 metres in length from a point on the western side of a roundabout to be constructed by The Secretary of State, that point being 180 metres south west of the west face of the bridge carrying the M6 Motorway over the River Ribble, in a generally westerly direction to a point on the A59 trunk road approximately 420 metres west of the west face of that bridge. The centre line of the new trunk road is shown on the deposited plan and given the reference letter A.
