Whereas it appears to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretary of State for Wales appropriate, in consequence of the Crop Residues (Restrictions on Burning) (No. 2) Regulations 1991(1) made under section 152 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990(2), to repeal byelaws of local authorities dealing with the burning of crop residues on agricultural land;
Now, therefore, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretary of State for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 152(4) of the said Act, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Burning of Crop Residues (Repeal of Byelaws) Order 1992, shall extend to England and Wales and shall come into force on 2nd April 1992.
2. All byelaws of local authorities made under section 235(1) of the Local Government Act 1972(3)dealing with the burning of crop residues on agricultural land are hereby repealed.
In witness whereof the Official Seal of the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is hereunto affixed on 11th March 1992.

This Order repeals, in consequence of the coming into force of the Crop Residues (Restrictions on Burning) (No.2) Regulations 1991, the byelaws of local authorities dealing with the burning of straw, stubble or other crop residues on agricultural land.

1972 c. 70.By virtue of S.I. 1978/1844, section 235(1) applies to the Council of the Isles of Scilly with the modification therein specified.
