In exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Education (Student Loans) Act 1990(1), the Secretary of State for Education and Science hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Student Loans) (Amendment) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 6th April 1992.
2. The following amendments shall be made in regulation 11(5) of the Education (Student Loans) Regulations 1991(2) (interpretation of "disability-related benefits")-�
(a)in sub-paragraph (a), at the end the word "and" shall be omitted;
(b)in sub-paragraph (b), at the end the word "and" shall be added; and
(c)after sub-paragraph (b), there shall be added the following paragraph-�
"(c)a disability living allowance payable under section 37ZA of the Social Security Act 1975 and a disability working allowance payable under section 20 of the Social Security Act 1986(3).".

These Regulations amend with effect from 6th April 1992 regulation 11(5) of the Education (Student Loans) Regulations 1991, which defines the expression "disability-related benefits" for the purposes of the Regulations, by adding a reference to a disability living allowance and a disability working allowance. These allowances were introduced by the Disability Living Allowance and Disability Working Allowance Act 1991 (c. 21).

Section 37ZA of the Social Security Act 1975 was introduced by section 1 of the Disability Living Allowance and Disability Working Allowance Act 1991 (c. 21), and section 20 of the Social Security Act 1986 was amended by section 6 of the 1991 Act.
