The Secretary of State, in exercise of his powers under section 1(1), (3), (4) and (7) of the Industrial Development Act 1982(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Assisted Areas (Amendment) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 1st August 1993.

2. The Assisted Areas Order 1993(2) shall be amended by substituting "5th April 1981" for "2nd April 1988" in article 2(2)(2).

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Assisted Areas Order 1993 ("the 1993 Order") by substituting 5th April 1981, the date of the 1981 Census, as the date on which a ward in a travel to work area in England and Wales referred to in the 1993 Order is taken to have existed for the purposes of the 1993 Order.
