WEIGHTS AND MEASURES
Made
28th October 1993
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 43(2) of the Weights and Measures Act 1985(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Weights and Measures Act 1985 Commencement (Revocation) Order 1993.
2. The Weights and Measures Act 1985 (Commencement) Order 1992(2) (which appointed 1st April 1994 for the coming into force of section 43 of the Weights and Measures Act 1985) is hereby revoked.
Patrick M'Loughlin
Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State,
Department of Trade and Industry
28th October 1993
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order revokes the Weights and Measures Act 1985 (Commencement) Order 1992 which would have brought into force, on 1st April 1994, section 43 of the Weights and Measures Act 1985. It does not appoint another date for that purpose.
Section 43 provides that, when ascertaining the quantity of beer or cider for the purposes of certain provisions of that Act or of subordinate legislation made under it, the gas comprised in any foam is to be disregarded.
With the exception of section 43 all the provisions of the 1985 Act are already in force.
S.I. 1992/770.
