In exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 5 of Schedule 3 to the Education (No. 2) Act 1986(1) the Secretary of State for Education, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Education (No. 2) Act 1986 (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 10th December 1993.
2. Paragraph 7 of Schedule 3 to the Education (No. 2) Act 1986 shall be amended by the substitution in sub-�paragraph (c) of the word "and" for the word "or" after the words "to the committee".

This Order amends paragraph 7 of Schedule 3 to the Education (No. 2) Act 1986 by substituting "and" for "or". Schedule 3 is concerned with appeals against school exclusions on grounds of discipline and the effect of the amendment is to give governing bodies and local education authorities the right to make both written and oral representations to an appeal committee on an appeal by a pupil or parent.
