(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order designates all awards granted by, or to be granted by, Richmond College, the American International University in London before 30th June 1996 as recognised awards for the purposes of section 214 of the Education Reform Act 1988. The reference to the Master of Business Administration awarded by Richmond College in the Education (Recognised Awards) Order 1988 is deleted, that award now being covered by the general designation made by this Order.
As recognised awards, awards granted by Richmond College are not awards of the kind referred to in section 214(1) of the 1988 Act, which makes it an offence to grant, offer to grant, or issue any invitations relating to certain unrecognised degrees or awards.
