The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by paragraph 3 of the Schedule to the Hong Kong Act 1985(1) and all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:-
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Hong Kong (Legislative Powers) (Amendment) Order 1993.
(2) This Order shall come into force on 31st January 1994.
2. The Hong Kong (Legislative Powers) Order 1986(2) shall be amended as follows-
(a)In Article 2, after "(iii) admiralty jurisdiction", the full stop shall be replaced by a comma;
(b)In Article 2, at the end there shall be added:-
"(iv)fugitive offenders,
(v)intellectual property,
(vi)protection of trading interests,
(vii)outer space.".

This Order amends the Hong Kong (Legislative Powers) Order 1986 by conferring on the legislature of Hong Kong the power to repeal or amend enactments of the United Kingdom, insofar as they are part of the law of Hong Kong, which relate to fugitive offenders, intellectual property, protection of trading interests and outer space; and to make laws having extra-territorial operation in these fields.
