The Secretary of State for Education in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 28 and 32 of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992(1) hereby makes the following Order:
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Education (Designated Institutions in Further Education) (No. 2) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 1st April 1993.
(2) In this Order a reference to a section is a reference to a section of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992.
2. Northern College, Barnsley ("the college"), being an educational institution of the kind described in subsections (1) and (2) of section 28, is hereby designated as an institution eligible to receive support from funds administered by the Further Education Funding Council for England or the Further Education Funding Council for Wales.
3. Section 32 (transfer of property, etc., to designated institutions) shall have effect in relation to the college.

This Order designates Northern College, Barnsley as eligible to receive support from funds administered by the Further Education Funding Council for England or by the Further Education Funding Council for Wales.
The Order also specifies that section 32 of the Act (transfer of property etc) is to have effect. By virtue of section 32(3)(a) all land or other property and rights and liabilities transferring under that section (and not excluded under section 32(5) or (6)) will vest in the company that conducts the college, Northern College for Residential Adult Education Limited.
