The Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 134 and 135 of, and paragraph 1 of Schedule 26 to, the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order-
1. This Order may be cited as the Plymouth Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 1st April 1993 or, if it has not been approved by resolution of each House of Parliament before that date, the day after the day on which it is so approved.
2. In this order "the maps" means the set of maps numbered 1 to 3 entitled "Maps referred to in the Plymouth Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) order 1993", of which prints, signed by an Under Secretary in the Department of the Environment, are deposited and available for inspection at the offices of the Secretary of State for the Environment and the offices of the council of the city of Plymouth.
3. The area comprising the three areas shown on the maps bounded externally by a black line and edged internally with a stippled band is hereby designated as an urban development area.
4. For the purposes of regenerating the designated area there is hereby established an urban development corporation named "The Plymouth Development Corporation" with eight members in addition to the chairman and deputy chairman.

The Order designates three areas totalling about 67 hectares in the city of Plymouth as an urban development area and establishes an urban development corporation to regenerate the area. The three areas are shown hatched black on the map forming part of this note.
The development corporation is to be called The Plymouth Development Corporation, and have eight members in addition to the chairman and deputy chairman.
