In exercise of the powers conferred by section 100(1)(b) of the Education Act 1944 ft(a) and vested in the Secretary of State ft(b), the Secretary of State for Education, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, hereby make the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Grant) (Amendment) Regulations 1994 and shall come into force on 1st September 1994.
2. The Education (Grant) Regulations 1990ft(c) are amended by the insertion after regulation 16 of-�
"16A. The Secretary of State may pay grants to the Engineering Council in respect of approved expenditure incurred or to be incurred by them in connection with the payment of bursaries for students attending courses leading to a degree in engineering.".

These Regulations amend the Education (Grant) Regulations 1990 to enable the Secretary of State to pay grants to the Engineering Council to enable them to pay bursaries to students attending any engineering degree course.
