The Secretary of State, in exercise of powers conferred by section 1 of the Import, Export and Customs Powers (Defence) Act 1939(1) and now vested in him(2), hereby makes the following Order:

Explanatory Note

(This Note is not part of the Order)

The Export of Goods (Control) Order 1994 excludes, subject to certain conditions and exceptions, goods in transit (goods imported into the United Kingdom for re-export) from the prohibition imposed by that Order on export without a licence, unless they are being exported to a small number of territories including Serbia and Montenegro.

This Order deletes the references to Serbia and Montenegro, so that goods in transit, other than military goods and certain animals and animal products, may be exported there without a licence under the same conditions as for most other destinations.
