(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Combined Probation Areas Order 1986 (S.I. 1986/1713) so as to alter the boundary between the Gwent and Mid Glamorgan probation areas. From 1st April 1996, the petty sessions areas of Lower Rhymney Valley and Upper Rhymney Valley, currently included in the Mid Glamorgan Probation Area, will become part of the Gwent Probation Area. The justice representation on the Mid Glamorgan committee will accordingly be reduced from fourteen to eleven. The Order also provides for the number of justices appointed to the Gwent committee to be reduced from nineteen to fourteen.
