The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of the power conferred upon him by section 52(8) of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Disability Discrimination Code of Practice (Goods, Services, Facilities and Premises) Order 1996.
2. The day appointed for the coming into force of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 Code of Practice on the Rights of Access to Goods, Facilities, Services and Premises (ISBN0117624322), issued by the Secretary of State for Social Security under section 51(2) of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 on 25th July 1996, is 2nd December 1996.

This Order appoints 2nd December 1996 as the date on which the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 Code of Practice on the Rights of Access to Goods, Facilities, Services and Premises, issued by the Secretary of State for Social Security on 25th July 1996, shall come into force. The Code may be obtained from The Stationery Office, PO Box 276, London SW8 5DT, The Stationery Office bookshops and The Stationery Office's accredited agents.
