PLANT BREEDERS' RIGHTS AND SEEDS

The Ministers, in exercise of their powers under section 54(3) of the Plant Varieties Act 1997(1), hereby make the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Plant Varieties Act 1997 (Commencement) Order 1998.
2. The Plant Varieties Act 1997, other than sections 49, 53 and 54(2), shall come into force on 8th May 1998.

This Order brings into force on 8th May 1998 those parts of the Plant Varieties Act 1997 which did not come into force on the passing of that Act.
1997 c. 66; see section 49(1) for the definition of "the Ministers".
Sections 49, 53 and 54 of the Plant Varieties Act 1997 were brought into force on the day on which that Act was passed (27th November 1997) by virtue of section 54(2) of that Act.
