1. This Order may be cited as the Geneva Conventions Act (Guernsey) Order 1999 and shall come into force on the date on which it is registered on the records of the Island of Guernsey.
2. The Geneva Conventions (Amendment) Act 1995 shall extend to the Bailiwick of Guernsey and the territorial waters adjacent thereto subject to the exceptions and modifications specified in the Schedule to this Order.

Article 2
1. References to the Geneva Conventions Act 1957 or the Geneva Conventions ( Amendment) Act 1995 or to any provision of either of those Acts is a reference to that Act or provision as it has effect in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
2. In section 1, omit subsection (4).
3. In section 2 -
(a)omit paragraph (a) of subsection (3);
(b)for paragraph (a) of subsection (4) substitute:
"(a)for the words "fifty pounds" there shall be substituted the words "level 5 on the uniform scale";";
(c)in subsection (5), in the subsection (4A) inserted into section 6 of the Geneva Conventions Act 1957, for the words from "For the purposes" to the end substitute:
"For the purposes of this subsection references in subsection (4) of this section to the coming into operation of this Act in Guernsey shall be construed as references to the coming into operation of the Geneva Conventions (Amendment) Act 1995 in Guernsey";
(d)for paragraph (b) of subsection (6) substitute:
"(b)for the words from "any British" to the end there shall be substituted the words-
(a)any vessel registered or required to be registered under any enactment for the time being in force in Guernsey;
(b)any British-controlled aircraft or hovercraft (within the meaning of section 92 of the Civil Aviation Act 1982, as extended to Guernsey, or, as the case may be, that section as applied to hovercraft by virtue of provisions made under the Hovercraft Act 1968).";
(e)omit subsection (7).
4. In section 5, omit paragraphs (a)(ii) and (b).
5. In section 7, omit subsections (2), (3) and (4).

This Order extends the Geneva Conventions (Amendment) Act 1995 to the Bailiwick of Guernsey, subject to exceptions and modifications.
