Whereas the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions considers it appropriate for certain roads in the London borough of Hillingdon to be GLA side roads in the interests of the management of traffic and the control of the waiting and loading of vehicles on or in the immediate vicinity of GLA roads:

Now therefore the Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred by section 124A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(1) hereby makes the following Order:-

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the GLA Side Roads (London Borough of Hillingdon) Designation Order 2000 and shall come into force on 19th June 2000.

Designation of GLA side roads

2.-(1) The roads in the London borough of Hillingdon specified in the Schedule to this Order are hereby designated as GLA side roads(2).

(2) The description of a road includes the intersection of that road and any other road that crosses it at the same level.

(3) In the Schedule "m" means metres.

(4) In accordance with section 124A(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, 3rd July 2000 is hereby specified as the date on which the designated roads are to become GLA side roads.

Article 2

THE SCHEDULEROADS IN THE LONDON BOROUGH OF HILLINGDON DESIGNATED AS GLA SIDE ROADS

Roads in the vicinity of A4

1. Bath Road, Longford between its junction with Bath Road (A4) and a point 10m south west of the southern kerbline of Bath Road.

2. Craneswater-

(a)(east arm) between its junction with Bath Road (A4) and a point on the south eastern boundary of 21 Bath Road;

(b)(west arm) between its junction with Bath Road (A4) and a point on the south eastern boundary of 2 Craneswater.

3. Hatch Lane between its junction with Bath Road (A4) and a point 10m north of the northern kerbline of Bath Road.

4. High Street, Harlington between its junction with Bath Road (A4) and a point 20m north of the northern kerbline of Bath Road.

5. Mondial Way between its junction with Bath Road (A4) and a point 10m north of the northern kerbline of Bath Road.

6. Nene Road between its junction with Bath Road (A4) and its junction with the Northern Perimeter Road.

7. Nobel Drive-

(a)(east arm) between its junction with Bath Road (A4) and a point 10m north of the northern kerbline of Bath Road;

(b)(west arm) between its junction with Bath Road (A4) and a point 10m north of the northern kerbline of Bath Road.

8. Oxford Avenue between its junction with Bath Road (A4) and a point 10m north of the northern kerbline of Bath Road.

9. Sipson Road between its junction with Bath Road (A4) and a point 70m south of a point opposite the party wall of 625/625a Sipson Road.

10. Sipson Way between its junction with Bath Road (A4) and a point 10m north of the northern kerbline of Bath Road.

Roads in the vicinity of A30

11. Unnamed slip roads between their junctions with Southern Perimeter Road and the Great West Road (A30).

Roads in the vicinity of A40

12. Unnamed north east slip road between its junction with Long Lane and Western Avenue (A40).

13. Unnamed slip roads between their junction with Freezeland Way and Western Avenue (A40).

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

Section 272 of the Greater London Authority Act 1999 inserts a new section 124A into the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 whereby the Secretary of State may designate roads or proposed roads which are to be GLA side roads, for which Transport for London will be the traffic authority. This Order designates the roads in the London Borough of Hillingdon specified in the Schedule as GLA side roads with effect from 3rd July 2000.
