Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 7(2) of the Carriage by Air and Road Act 1979(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
1. This Order may be cited at the Carriage by Air and Road Act 1979 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2000.
2. The provisions of the Carriage by Air and Road Act 1979 which are listed in column (1) of the Schedule to this Order and which relate to the matters respectively specified in relation to those provisions in column (2) thereof shall (to the extent stated in the Schedule) come into force on 12th October 2000.

This Order brings into force on 12th October 2000 those provisions of the Carriage by Air and Road Act 1979 specified in the Schedule to the extent there stated. This principally provides for section 4A to be inserted into the Carriage by Air (Supplementary Provisions) Act 1962(2). Section 4A provides for section 8A of the Carriage by Air Act 1961 to have effect in relation to a revision of the Convention set out in the Schedule to the 1962 Act as it has effect in relation to a revision of the Convention set out in Schedule 1 to the Act of 1961. This enables an Order in Council to be made to alter the Act of 1962 in consequence of any revision of the Convention set out in the Schedule to that Act.
