In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 4(2) of the Education Act 1994(1), the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Education (Funding for Teacher Training) Designation (No. 3) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 2nd November 2000.
2. The following are hereby designated as institutions eligible for funding under Part I of the Education Act 1994-
(a)The Mathematical Association, a charitable unincorporated association having the registered charity number 313281,
(b)Plymouth City Council, and
(c)Start Education (EM) Limited, a company limited by shares having the registration number 3244584.

This Order designates The Mathematical Association, a charitable unincorporated association having the registered charity number 313281, Plymouth City Council and Start Education (EM) Limited, a company limited by shares having the registration number 3244584 as institutions eligible for funding under Part I of the Education Act 1994.
As a result of this Order, the Teacher Training Agency may make grants, loans or other payments in respect of expenditure incurred or to be incurred by the designated institutions for the purposes of the provision of teacher training and the provision of facilities, and the carrying on of other activities, which the institutions consider it necessary or desirable to provide or carry on for the purpose of or in connection with the provision of teacher training.
