The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 9(2) of the Northern Ireland Act 2000(1), hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Northern Ireland Act 2000 (Commencement) Order 2000.
2. The day appointed for the coming into force of the Northern Ireland Act 2000, other than subsections (1) and (2) of section 9 (which are already in force), is the day after the day on which this Order is made.

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings the provisions of the Northern Ireland Act 2000 (other than subsections (1) and (2) of section 9, which came into force on Royal Assent) into force on 12th February 2000, being the day after the day on which the Order was made. The Act makes provision for the suspension of devolved government in Northern Ireland.
