In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Secretary of State by sections 50 and 63(3) of the Education (No 2) Act 1986[1], the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement and application
1.
- (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Bursaries for School Teacher Training) (England) (Revocation) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 5th January 2003.
(2) These Regulations shall apply in relation to England.
Revocation and savings
2.
- (1) Subject to paragraph (2) the following Regulations are revoked -
(a) the Education (Bursaries for School Teacher Training) (England) Regulations 2002[2];
(b) the Education (Bursaries for School Teacher Training) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2002[3]; and
(c) the Education (Bursaries for School Teacher Training) (England) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2002[4].
(2) The Regulations mentioned in paragraph (1) shall continue to have effect in relation to bursaries and grants in respect of approved training in which a qualified teacher or classroom assistant began to participate or committed himself to participate before 5th January 2003.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations revoke the Education (Bursaries for School Teacher Training) (England) Regulations 2002 (S.I. 2002/509), the Education (Bursaries for School Teacher Training) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2002 (S.I. 2002/756) and the Education (Bursaries for School Teacher Training) (England) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2002 (S.I. 2002/1137) (regulation 2(1)). However, they remain in force in relation to bursaries and grants in respect of approved training in which a qualified teacher or classroom assistant began to participate or committed himself to participate before 5th January 2003 (regulation 2(2)).
