The form of Writs of Summons issued to Lords Spiritual at the start of a new Parliament is set out in the Schedule to the Crown Office (Forms and Proclamations Rules) Order 1992. Writs of Summons to Lords Temporal, though not included in the Schedule, follow a similar form.

This Order in Council amends the Writs of Summons so that they refer to Great Women as well as to Great Men.
