EDUCATION, ENGLAND

Education (Pupil Information) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2003

  Made 2nd April 2003 
  Laid before Parliament 9th April 2003 
  Coming into force 7th May 2003 

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 408 of the Education Act 1996[1], and after consulting those persons with whom consultation appeared to him to be desirable in accordance with section 408(5) of that Act, the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement
     1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Pupil Information) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 7th May 2003.

Amendment
    
2. The Education (Pupil Information) (England) Regulations 2000[2] shall be amended in accordance with the following provisions of these Regulations.

     3. In paragraph (1)(d) of regulation 10, for the word "over" there shall be substituted "who cease to be of".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations amend the Education (Pupil Information) (England) Regulations 2000 to reflect changes to the National Curriculum assessments.

In respect of pupils in the first key stage, there is no longer a requirement to record and report a separate assessment in "Spelling".

In respect of pupils in the third key stage, the assessments in "Reading" and "Writing" are to be recorded separately from those in English.
