CHARITIES

The Exempt Charities Order 2003

  Made 17th July 2003 
  Coming into force 1st August 2003 

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 17th day of July 2003

Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in pursuance of paragraph (c) of Schedule 2 to the Charities Act 1993[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

     1. This Order may be cited as the Exempt Charities Order 2003 and shall come into force on 1st August 2003.

    
2. University College Chichester is hereby declared to be an exempt charity for the purposes of the Charities Act 1993.

EXPLANATORY NOTE[a]

(This is not part of the Order)

This order declares University College Chichester to be an exempt charity within the meaning of the Charities Act 1993 with effect from 1st August 2003. An exempt charity is not required to be registered with the Charity Commission and the Commissioners cannot exercise any powers under the Act in relation to an exempt charity except at the charity's request.
