The European Communities (Designation) (No.3) Order 2004

  Made 6th May 2004 
  Laid before Parliament 18th May 2004 
  Coming into force 8th June 2004 

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 6th day of May 2004

Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[1] is pleased, by and with the advice of her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

Citation, commencement and interpretation
     1.  - (1) This Order may be cited as the European Communities (Designation) (No. 3) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 8th June 2004.

    (2) In this Order -

Designation of the Treasury
    
2.  - (1) For the purposes of section 2(2) of the Act, the Treasury are designated in relation to the matter specified in the Schedule to this Order.

    (2) Where any Minister or government department has been designated by any other Order for the purposes of section 2(2) of the Act in relation to the matter specified in the Schedule to this Order, the Treasury and any Minister or other government department so designated may make regulations and, if regulations are made by more than one, they may do so jointly.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This is a further Order in the series designating authorities which may exercise the power to make regulations conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 and specifying the matters in relation to which that power may be exercised.
