MEDICINES

The Marketing Authorisations for Veterinary Medicinal Products (Revocation of Confidentiality Provision) Regulations 2004

  Made 2nd December 2004 
  Laid before Parliament 6th December 2004 
  Coming into force 1st January 2005 

The Secretary of State, being designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[1] in relation to medicinal products[2], in exercise of the powers conferred on her by that section makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement
     1. These Regulations may be cited as the Marketing Authorisations for Veterinary Medicinal Products (Revocation of Confidentiality Provision) Regulations 2004 and shall come into force on 1st January 2005.

2. Regulation 14 of the Marketing Authorisations for Veterinary Medicinal Products Regulations 1994[3] is revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


These Regulations revoke, from 1st January 2005, regulation 14 of the Marketing Authorisations for Veterinary Medicinal Products Regulations 1994 (S.I. 1994/3142). Regulation 14 prohibits any person from disclosing information learnt in pursuance of the principal Regulations except in performance of his duty.

These Regulations are made under the powers contained in section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 (c. 68).

The Marketing Authorisations for Veterinary Medicinal Products Regulations 1994 continue to implement parts of Directive 2001/82/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Community code relating to veterinary medicinal products (OJ No. L311, 28.11.2001 p. 1).

A full Regulatory Impact Assessment has not been prepared for this instrument as it has no impact on the costs of business.
