The Health and Social Care (Community Health and Standards) Act 2003 (Commencement) (No. 6) Order 2005

  Made 1st March 2005 

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 199(1) and (3) of the Health and Social Care (Community Health and Standards) Act 2003[1] hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, interpretation and extent
     1.  - (1) This Order may be cited as the Health and Social Care (Community Health and Standards) Act 2003 (Commencement) (No. 6) Order 2005.

    (2) In this Order "the Act" means the Health and Social Care (Community Health and Standards) Act 2003.

    (3) Article 2(1)(a) and (b) of this Order extends to England and Wales.

    (4) Article 2(1)(c) of this Order extends to England only.

Appointed day
     2.  - (1) 1st April 2005 is the day appointed for the coming into force of  -

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order is the sixth commencement order under the Health and Social Care (Community Health and Standards) Act 2003 ("the Act").

Article 2(1)(a) brings into force on 1st April 2005 section 190 of the Act (abolition of the Public Health Laboratory Service Board) and Schedule 13 (amendments consequential on the abolition of the Public Health Laboratory Service Board) to the Act. Article 2(1)(b) brings into force on that date section 196 to the Act, in order to effect the repeals and revocations relating to the Public Health Laboratory Service Board set out in Part 7 of Schedule 14 (repeals and revocations) to the Act.

Article 2(1)(c) brings into force section 85 (criteria) for all remaining purposes.
