The Secretary of State for Transport, with the consent of the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 56(1) and (2) of the Finance Act 1973[1] and by virtue of the Department of Transport (Fees) Order 1988[2], hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2005 and shall come into force on 30th September 2005.
Increases in fees
2.
In regulation 3 of the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) Regulations 1986[3] for "£275" there shall be substituted "£311" and for "£112" there shall be substituted "£127".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) Regulations 1986 so as to increase the fees for the approval of fitters or workshops for the installation or repair of recording equipment (tachographs).
The fee for the issue of an approval is increased by 13.1% from £275 to £311 and for the renewal of an approval by 13.4% from £112 to £127.
