MEDICINES

The Medicines (Pharmacies) (Applications for Registration and Fees) Amendment Regulations 2005

  Made 24th November 2005 
  Laid before Parliament 1st December 2005 
  Coming into force 1st January 2006 

The Secretary of State for Health and the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, acting jointly, make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 75(1), 76(1), (2) and (6) and 129(5) of the Medicines Act 1968[1] or, as the case may be, the powers conferred by those provisions and now vested in them[2].

     In accordance with section 129(6) of that Act, they have consulted such organisations as appear to them to be representative of interests likely to be affected by the Regulations.

Citation and commencement
     1. These Regulations may be cited as the Medicines (Pharmacies) (Applications for Registration and Fees) Amendment Regulations 2005 and shall come into force on 1st January 2006.

Amendment of the Medicines (Pharmacies) (Applications for Registration and Fees) Regulations 1973
    
2. In regulation 3 of the Medicines (Pharmacies) (Applications for Registration and Fees) Regulations 1973[3] (fees)—

Revocation
     3. The Medicines (Pharmacies) (Applicants for Registration and Fees) Amendment Regulations 2004[4] are revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations further amend the Medicines (Pharmacies) (Applications for Registration and Fees) Regulations 1973 ("the principal Regulations") as follows—

These Regulations also revoke the Medicines (Pharmacies) (Applications for Registration and Fees) Amendment Regulations 2004, which increased the fees in the principal Regulations, the effect of which is spent on the coming into force of these Regulations.

A full Regulatory Impact Assessment of the effect that this instrument will have on the costs of business is available from the Department of Health, Pharmacy and Prescription Branch, Room 520, Eileen House, 80-90 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6EE. Copies have been placed in the libraries of both Houses of Parliament.
