BUILDING AND BUILDINGS, ENGLAND AND WALES
The Sustainable and Secure Buildings Act 2004 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2006
The First Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 11(3) of the Sustainable and Secure Buildings Act 2004[1], makes the following Order:
Citation
1.
This Order may be cited as the Sustainable and Secure Buildings Act 2004 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2006.
Provisions coming into force
2.
The following provisions of the Sustainable and Secure Buildings Act 2004 shall come into force on 1st February 2006—
(a) section 2 (buildings of special historical or architectural interest);
(b) section 7 (registers of information and documents to be kept by local authorities), for the purpose only of conferring power to make regulations;
(c) section 8 (certification of work); and
(d) section 9 (appointed person and management of works).

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings the following provision of the Sustainable and Secure Buildings Act 2004 into force on 1st February 2006:
(a) sections 2 (buildings of special historical or architectural interest), 8 (certification of work) and 9 (appointed person and management of works); and
(b) for the purposes of making regulations only, section 7 (registers of information and documents to be kept by local authorities).
All those provisions amend the Building Act 1984 (c.55).
