ROAD TRAFFIC

The M53 Motorway (Bidston Moss Viaduct)(50 Miles per Hour Speed Limit) Regulations 2006

  Made 6th November 2006 
  Laid before Parliament 8th November 2006 
  Coming into force 12th December 2006 

The Secretary of State for Transport, makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 17(2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[1].

     In accordance with section 134(2) of that Act he has consulted with representatives of those whom he considers likely to be affected by the Regulations.

Citation and commencement
     1. These Regulations may be cited as the M53 Motorway (Bidston Moss Viaduct)(50 Miles per Hour Speed Limit) Regulations 2006, and shall come into force on 12th December 2006.

Imposition of speed limit
    
2. No person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour along—

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations impose a permanent 50 miles per hour speed limit on a section of the M53 Motorway at Junction 1 (Bidston Moss Viaduct) and on two slip roads at this junction, in the Borough of Wirral in the County of Merseyside.

A regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on the costs of business, charities or voluntary bodies.
