TRADE MARKS

The Trade Marks (Fees) (Amendment) Rules 2007

  Made 18th July 2007 
  Laid before Parliament 20th July 2007 
  Coming into force 1st October 2007 

The Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 78 and 79 of the Trade Marks Act 1994[1] and of the power conferred on him by the Department of Trade and Industry (Fees) Order 1988[2] makes the following Rules—

     1. These Rules may be cited as the Trade Marks (Fees) (Amendment) Rules 2007 and shall come into force on 1st October 2007.

    
2. The Schedule to the Trade Marks (Fees) Rules 2000[3] is amended by inserting after the entry which refers to form TM5 the following—

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Rules)


These Rules amend the Trade Marks (Fees) Rules 2000 (S.I. 2000/137) to require the payment of £50 if the proprietor of a Community trade mark or international trade mark (EC) wishes to receive notification of the results of a search of the register conducted under Article 4 of the Trade Marks (Relative Grounds) Order 2007 (S.I. 2007/1976).
