The Road Transport (International Passenger Services) (Amendment) Regulations 2008

The Secretary of State for Transport makes the following Regulations with the consent of the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 56(1) and (2) of the Finance Act 1973(1) and by virtue of the Department of Transport (Fees) Order 1988(2).

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Transport (International Passenger Services) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 and shall come into force on 1st August 2008.

2. Regulation 14 of the Road Transport (International Passenger Services) Regulations 1984(3) is amended as follows –

(1) In paragraph (2A), for "£11" substitute "£12."

(2) In paragraph (3), for "£160" substitute "£168."

(3) In paragraph (3A), for "£163" substitute "£171."

(4) In paragraph (4), for "£34" substitute "£36."

(5) In paragraph (5A), for "£5" substitute "£6."

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations increase the fees payable under the Road Transport (International Passenger Services) Regulations 1984.

The fee increases, with percentage increases, are shown in the table below. The fees were last increased on 30 August 2004.

Application for a special regular service authorisation or international passenger transport authorisation. £160 £168 5.0%
Application for a shuttle service authorisation or regular service authorisation. £163 £171 4.9%
Annual renewal of a regular or special regular service authorisation. £34 £36 5.9%
Application for an own account certificate (each year). £5 £6 20.0%
