The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 162 of the Housing Act 2004(1).
1. This Order may be cited as the Home Information Pack (Suspension) Order 2010 and comes into force on 21st May 2010.
2. The operation of the duties imposed by sections 155 to 159 of the Housing Act 2004 is suspended.

This Order suspends the operation of all of the duties imposed by sections 155 to 159 of the Housing Act 2004 relating to the content and provision of home information packs.
A full regulatory impact assessment of the effect that this instrument will have on the costs of business and the voluntary sector is available and is annexed to the Explanatory Memorandum which is available alongside the instrument on the OPSI website (www.opsi.gov.uk) and copies have also been placed in the Library of each House of Parliament.
