The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 9(3) of the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc) Act 1985(1) makes the following Order.
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Amendment) Order 2011 and shall come into force on 26th May 2011.
(2) This Order extends to England and Wales.
2.-(1) The Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) Order 2005(2) is amended as follows.
(2) In Part 1 of Schedule 2 after "Welsh Premier League," insert "or whose home ground is for the time being situated outside England and Wales,".

This Order, which comes into force on 26th May 2011, amends the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) Order 2005 for the purposes of designated sporting events to which the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc) Act 1985 applies.
This Order includes in the list of designated sporting events, any football match in which one or both clubs have their home ground for the time being outside England and Wales.
1985 c. 57; section 9 has been amended by sections 198(1) and 199 of, and paragraphs 96 and 101(a) and (b) of Schedule 6 and Schedule 7 to, the Licensing Act 2003 (c. 17).
