Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 5 of the Oaths and Evidence (Overseas Authorities and Countries) Act 1963(1), section 28 of the Nuclear Installations Act 1965(2), section 33 of the Energy Act 1983(3), section 4(6) of the Congenital Disabilities (Civil Liability) Act 1976(4), section 12(4) of the Intelligence Services Act 1994(5), section 5(2) of the Taking of Hostages Act 1982(6), section 7(4) of the Security Service Act 1989(7), section 2(3) of the Arms Control and Disarmament (Privileges and Immunities) Act 1988(8) and section 1(2) of that Act as extended to certain territories by the Arms Control and Disarmament (Privileges and Immunities) Act 1988 (Overseas Territories) Order 1992(9), section 34(2) and (3) of the Antarctic Act 1994(10), section 29(4) of the Landmines Act 1998(11), section 8(2) of the Geneva Conventions Act 1957(12), as applied to the Geneva Conventions (Amendment) Act 1995(13) by section 7(4) of that Act, section 39(3) of the Chemical Weapons Act 1996(14), section 57 of the Anti-terrorism, Crime and Security Act 2001(15), section 9(4) of the Repatriation of Prisoners Act 1984(16), section 138(1) of the Criminal Justice Act 1988(17), section 26 of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985(18), section 6(2) of the Biological Weapons Act 1974(19), and section 4(2) of the Internationally Protected Persons Act 1978(20), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is ordered, as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Overseas Territories (Change of Name) (No. 11) Order 2011 and shall come into force on 14th January 2012.
2.-(1) The instruments listed in Schedule 1, in the Schedules to them there specified, are amended by substituting for the words "St Helena and Dependencies" the words "St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha".
(2) The instruments listed in Schedule 2, in the Schedules to them there specified, are amended by substituting for the words "St Helena" and "St Helena Dependencies" the words "St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha".
(3) The instruments listed in Schedule 3, in the Schedules to them there specified, are amended by-
(a)deleting, after the words "Falkland Islands", the words "(Colony and Dependencies)";
(b)inserting in the list of territories, in the appropriate alphabetical position, "South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands"; and
(c)substituting for the words "St Helena (Colony and Dependencies)" the words "St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha".
(4) Schedule 2 to the Taking of Hostages Act 1982 (Overseas Territories) Order 1982(21) is amended by-
(a)deleting the words "and Dependencies" after the words "Falkland Islands"; and
(b)inserting in the list of territories, in the appropriate alphabetical position, "South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands".
(5) The Evidence (St Helena) Order 1961(22) is amended by-
(a)substituting for the words "the Colony of St Helena", "the said Colony", and "the Colony", wherever they appear, the words "St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha"; and
(b)deleting article 5(2).
(6) Article 6 of the Nuclear Installations (St Helena) Order 1983(23) is amended by substituting for the words "the Dependencies of St Helena" the words "Ascension and Tristan da Cunha".
(7) The Schedule to the Intelligence Services Act 1994 (Dependent Territories) Order 1995(24) is amended by substituting for the words "St Helena and its dependencies" the words "St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha".
