The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 60 of the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004(1):
1. This Order may be cited as the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004 (Commencement No. 15) Order 2012.
2. Section 15 of the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004 (increase in maximum on-the-spot penalty for disorderly behaviour) comes into force on 1st October 2012.

This Order brings into force on 1st October 2012 section 15 of the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004 (c. 28). This provision amends section 3 of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (c. 16) to increase the maximum level at which the Secretary of State may set the amount of a Penalty Notice under Chapter 1, Part 1 of that Act, from a quarter of the maximum fine payable on summary conviction in respect of a penalty offence, to one quarter of the maximum fine, plus one half of the relevant surcharge payable under section 161A of the Criminal Justice Act 2003 (c.44).
