The Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 129(1) of the Education Reform Act 1988(1).
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Education (Designated Institutions) (England) Order 2013 and comes into force on 19th July 2013.
(2) This Order applies in relation to England.
2. The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, being an institution which appears to the Secretary of State to fall within section 129(2) of the Education Reform Act 1988, is designated as an institution eligible to receive support from funds administered by the Higher Education Funding Council for England.

This Order, made under section 129 of the Education Reform Act 1988 (the "1988 Act"), designates The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine as eligible to receive support from funds administered by the Higher Education Funding Council for England.
An impact assessment has not been produced for the Order because it has no impact on businesses, civil society organisations or the public sector. The Explanatory Memorandum is published alongside the instrument on www.legislation.gov.uk.
1988 c.40; section 129 was amended by the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 (c.13) section 72 and Schedule 9.
