1. This Order may be cited as the A6055 Trunk Road (A1(M) Junction 51, Leeming Interchange) (Trunking) Order 2014 and shall come into force on 30th June 2014.
2. In this Order "the plan" means the plan numbered HA/10/NDD/007, marked "The A6055 Trunk Road (A1(M) Junction 51, Leeming Interchange) (Trunking) Order 2014, signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at Communications and Local Government, Deposited Document Services, Ashdown House, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex, TN37 7GA.
3. The lengths of highways described in the Schedule to this Order shall become trunk road from the date when this Order comes into force.

The lengths of highways becoming trunk road are the A6055 eastern and western roundabouts and the length of the A6055 connecting those roundabouts at Junction 51 of the A1(M) Motorway (Leeming Interchange), in the District of Hambleton in the County of North Yorkshire (as shown by the hatching on the Plan).

The purpose of this Order is to authorise the Secretary of State to impose trunk road status on the lengths of highways described in the Schedule to this Order.
Two roundabouts have been constructed on either side of the A1(M) Motorway at Junction 51 at Leeming, which together form a "dumbbell roundabout" arrangement at this grade separated junction under the A1(M). In order to take responsibility for managing and maintaining the entire interchange, the Secretary of State will become the highway authority for the highways described in the Schedule to this Order
