The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 95(12) and paragraphs 1 and 3(a) of Schedule 8 to the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999( 1).
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Asylum Support (Amendment) Regulations 2021 and come into force on 22nd February 2021.
2.—(1) Regulation 10 of the Asylum Support Regulations 2000( 2) (kind and levels of support for essential living needs) is amended as follows.
(2) In paragraph (2) for “£37.75” substitute “£39.63”.

These Regulations amend regulation 10(2) of the Asylum Support Regulations 2000 ( S.I. 2000/704) to provide that the weekly cash payment which may be made by the Secretary of State in respect of the essential living needs of persons to whom the Secretary of State has decided to provide asylum support is increased from £37.75 to £39.63.
An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private and voluntary sector is foreseen.
