The Professional Qualifications Act 2022 (Commencement No. 2) Regulations 2022

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 21(4)(e) of the Professional Qualifications Act 2022( 1).

Citation

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Professional Qualifications Act 2022 (Commencement No. 2) Regulations 2022.

Commencement

2.  Subsections (4) and (5) of section 11 of the Professional Qualifications Act 2022 come into force on 31st December 2022.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations are the second commencement regulations made under the Professional Qualifications Act 2022 (c. 20)(“ the Act”).

They bring into force on 31st December 2022 section 11(4) and (5) of the Act. Those provisions amend the Architects Act 1997 (c. 22)so that the Architects Registration Board may require a person wishing to register as an architect in the UK on the basis of their overseas qualifications or experience to sit a test, undertake training or meet another condition. The provisions also make related consequential amendments to the Architects Act 1997.

An impact assessment has not been published for these Regulations, as they have no impact on costs to businesses, the public or voluntary sectors independent of the provisions they bring into force.
