The Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (London Luton Airport) (No. 2) Regulations 2022

at 10.15 p.m. on 1st April 2022

Coming into force with immediate effect

The Secretary of State has decided it is necessary in the public interest to restrict flying at London Luton Airport by aircraft of the type specified in regulation 2(1).

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by article 239 of the Air Navigation Order 2016( 1), makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (London Luton Airport) (No. 2) Regulations 2022 and they come into force with immediate effect.

Restricted airspace

2.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2), no aeroplane manufactured by Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation and operated by Falcon Wings LLC is to depart from London Luton Airport.

(2) Paragraph (1) does not apply to any aircraft flying with the permission of the Secretary of State.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations impose restrictions of an emergency nature on the departure of specified aircraft types from London Luton Airport, Bedfordshire, for reasons in the public interest.

They are intended to be of temporary duration and will be revoked as soon as it is deemed appropriate to do so.

In relation to the permission mentioned in regulation 2(2), this can be obtained by contacting the Department of Transport on 0300 330 3000 during the hours of 0830 to 1730 Monday to Friday, emailing[email protected] outsideof these times, or by writing to[email protected].

Full details of this Statutory Instrument will be promulgated by Notice to Aviation (NOTAM).
