The Office for Students, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 42(1) of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017( 1), makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Power to Award Degrees etc. (Spurgeon’s College) Order 2022 and shall come into force on 1st September 2022.
2. Spurgeon’s College shall be competent to grant taught awards of the kind mentioned in section 42(2)(a) and defined under section 42(3) of the said Act for a fixed term beginning on 1st September 2022 and expiring on 1st December 2025.
3. Spurgeon’s College may authorise other institutions to grant such awards as specified in article 2 of this Order on its behalf.

This Order, made under section 42(1) of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017 authorises Spurgeon’s College with the power to award taught awards for a three-year and three-month fixed term expiring on 1st December 2025. This Order will come into force on 1st September 2022.
An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on businesses and civil society organisations. The instrument has no impact on the public sector.
