The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 95(12) of, and paragraphs 1 and 3(a) of Schedule 8 to, the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999( 1).
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Asylum Support (Amendment) Regulations 2022 and come into force on 21st February 2022.
(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
2.—(1) Regulation 10 of the Asylum Support Regulations 2000( 2) (kind and levels of support for essential living needs) is amended as follows.
(2) In paragraph (2) for “£39.63” substitute “£40.85”.
3.—(1) The Asylum Support (Amendment) Regulations 2018( 3) are revoked.
(2) The Asylum Support (Amendment) Regulations 2021( 4) are revoked.

This instrument amends the Asylum Support Regulations 2000 ( S.I. 2000/704) so as to increase the weekly cash payment made by the Secretary of State in respect of the essential living needs of persons to whom the Secretary of State has decided to provide asylum support from £39.63 to £40.85.
These Regulations also revoke the Asylum Support (Amendment) Regulations 2018 ( S.I. 2018/30) and the Asylum Support (Amendment) Regulations 2021 ( S.I. 2021/99), which set out previous cash amounts payable.
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sector is foreseen.
