The Office for Students, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 45(1) of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017( 1), makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Power to Award Degrees etc. (NCG) Order of Council 2016 (Amendment) Order 2022 and shall come into force on 1st August 2022.
2.—(1) The Power to Award Degrees etc. (NCG) Order of Council 2016 is varied in accordance with paragraph (2).
(2) For article 2, substitute—
“2. NCG shall be competent to grant awards of the kind mentioned in paragraph (a) of section 76(2) of the said Act for a fixed eight-year term beginning on 1st August 2016 and expiring on 31st July 2024. ”

This Order, made under section 45(1) of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017, provides for a variation of the Power to Award Degrees etc. (NCG) Order of Council 2016, so that NCG’s existing Degree Awarding Powers authorisation remain valid until 31st July 2024. This Order will come into force on 1st August 2022.
An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on businesses and civil society organisations. The instrument has no impact on the public sector.
