The Office for Students makes this order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 45(1) of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017( 1).
The Office for Students has requested advice from the relevant body regarding the quality of, and standards applied to, higher education provided by the provider, and has had regard to that advice in accordance with sections 46(1)(c) and (7) of that Act.
The Office for Students has complied with the procedure on giving notifications in accordance with section 48 of that Act.
1. This Order may be cited as the Power to Award Degrees etc. (Richmond, The American International University in London) Order of Council 2018 (Amendment) Order 2024 and shall come into force on 16th May 2024.
2.—(1) The Power to Award Degrees etc. (Richmond, The American International University in London) Order of Council 2018 is varied in accordance with paragraph (2).
(2) For article 2, substitute—
“2. Richmond, The American International University in London shall be competent to grant awards of the kind mentioned in paragraph (a) of section 76(2) of the said Act for a fixed term beginning on 17th May 2018 and expiring on 15th May 2026. ”.

This Order varies the existing Degree Awarding Powers authorisation of Richmond, The American International University in London so that it remains valid until 15th May 2026.
