The Police and Justice Act 2006 (Commencement No. 1) (Wales) Order 2007

The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred on the National Assembly for Wales by section 53(5) of the Police and Justice Act 2006(1) and now vested in them(2), make the following Order:

Title and application

1.–(1) This Order is called the Police and Justice Act 2006 (Commencement No. 1) (Wales) Order 2007.

(2) This Order applies in relation to Wales.

Commencement

2. Paragraph 7(2) of Schedule 9 of the Police and Justice Act 2006 in so far as relating to fire and rescue authorities in Wales, and section 22 of that Act in so far as relating to that paragraph, come into force on 19 November 2007.

Explanatory Note

This Order brings into force in Wales on 19 November 2007 those provisions of the Police and Justice Act 2006 set out in article 2.
