The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the power conferred on them by section 5(4)(b) of the Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Act 2018( 1), make the following Order:
1. The title of this Order is the Additional Learning Needs Code (Appointed Day) (Wales) Order 2021.
2. The day appointed for the coming into force of the Additional Learning Needs Code (a copy of which was laid in draft before Senedd Cymru on 18 March 2021 and which was approved by a resolution of Senedd Cymru on 23 March 2021) is 1 September 2021.

This Order appoints 1 September 2021 as the day on which the Additional Learning Needs Code (“the Code”) issued under section 4 of the Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Act 2018 (“the Act”) by the Welsh Ministers comes into force.
The Code imposes statutory requirements and includes statutory guidance in relation to identifying and meeting the additional learning needs of children and young people under Part 2 of the Act.
